Wednesday March 13th we settled into Premium Recordings right next to North Loop for a 12 hour session of 5 bands each recording 2 tracks each. The idea was to get as close to a live sound as possible inside the confines of a studio, and i think we came pretty close to accomplishing that task.

They say your trials define who you become as a person. It’s a safe bet that if things are going well, they have a chance of continuing if you keep at it. The pop-punk foursome of Cruiserweight knows the fight all too well.

I've had this idea for awhile now of doing a live studio album with some of the many bands who pass through Austin that I've become good friends with. Originally, it was conceived as a compilation, similar to Everyone Living Under A Gun, but with all original tracks recorded in Austin.

What a fucking task this was! When I started asking bands to be on this compilation last October (06) I thought it was going to be simple, everything would just fall into place!

Not that it hasn't. Looking at it now I realize why it wasn't rushed, it had to develop and take a life of its own almost. I think a lot of that will be explained in the liner notes though.

This is all ran from a duplex in austin with a nearby post office and kinkos. I work two jobs and do this because I can't NOT do it.

i know it's only december but booking for the annual SXSW music conference starts going around the end of October.

I've just returned to a sense of normalcy back home in Austin after an amazing weekend in Florida for Fest 6 in Gainesville.
